ME218C: Smart Product Design Applications
ME218C is the third and (typically) final course in a yearlong sequence at Stanford called Smart Product Design, known informally as the Mechatronics sequence and known to us as the majority of our waking hours. In 218A, we built arcade games with an ''Almost As Seen on TV" theme, and in 218B, we built autonomous robots that played "High-tech Indoor Ping Pong Orbital Sumo" or HIPPOS, against each other. For the end of the year, we built wirelessly communicative boats and controllers to play a game called...
Zombies on the High Seas: ME218C 2012
Teams had to design and build a tele-operated Human/Zombie Vehicle (HZV) and a companion Living/Undead Controller (LUC).
The game took place in Terman Pond, at the bottom of beautiful new Mechatronics patk. During rounds of the game the Zombie vehicles attempted to convert the Human vehicles into Zombies (by popping their balloons) and the Human vehicles will attempted to capture supplies from the Supply Depot, a floating island (by popping balloons on the island).
